SJMW in concert
The anniversary concert of the Swiss Youth Music Competition was broadcast on Radio SRF 2 Kultur - you can listen to the recording here.
The Swiss Youth Music Competition has been in existence for 50 years. Current and former prizewinners took centre stage at the anniversary concert in the Tonhalle Zurich: they took on the solo parts in Frank Martin's concerto for seven wind instruments, timpani, percussion and string orchestra; they also played prominent roles in the works by Swiss composers Richard Dubugnon and Daniel Schnyder, which were premiered. The Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, conducted by David Bruchez-Lalli, played Brahms' "Academic Festive Tour Overture" to match the festive occasion. The concert was recorded by Radio SRF 2 Kultur.
