In 2016, Janine Jansen played Brahms' Violin Concerto at the gala event for the Nobel Prize awards. And the Dutch violinist has already demonstrated how much this work means to her at the Tonhalle Zürich. When she performed it at the end of the season in 2019, the NZZ ran a succinct headline: "The best at the end". She is now performing the concerto once again under the direction of Paavo Järvi. The setting will be a work by this year's Creative Chair Thomas Adès on the one hand and Mendelssohn's "Scottish" on the other, which Paavo Järvi always likes to include in his programmes: "His music speaks to me. I never had to make any special effort, it speaks to me immediately."
