On this evening, two special instrumental formations enter into a dialogue with two masters of their trade on the organ: the brass players of German Brass and the organ expert Christian Schmitt, who is well known in Zurich, combine their sound worlds in a programme that reaches a virtuoso peak with Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition". The organist Karol Mossakowski, who works at Saint-Sulpice in Paris, will perform surprising, subtle arrangements of works by Poulenc, Lutoslawski and others together with the young musicians of the Zurich Saxophone Collective, which he will weave into a resounding whole with his art of improvisation. Chamber music in a class of its own!

The Zurich International Organ Festival is curated by Prof. Christian Schmitt and Prof. Tobias Willi in consultation with Prof. Michael Eidenbenz, President of the Association of Friends of the New Zurich Tonhalle Organ.
