Paavo Järvis Conductors' Academy – These Are The Academy students

The Conductors' Academy under Paavo Järvi will take place in Zurich for the first time in March 2020. Järvi has selected eight young conductors. During two weeks, the candidates have the opportunity to develop their conducting skills and gain insights into the management of an orchestra and concert hall. The conducting courses with Järvi are open to the public and offer an exciting insight into the art of conducting. In the final concert, the audience decides which candidate particularly convinced them and thus chooses the winner.

The selection of young talents was not easy for Järvi: «We got a fantastic group together. My biggest concern when choosing the students is that there were at least eight other people I would have liked to have selected.»

In the end, he chose three women and five men from eight different nations aged between 24 and 30. Here are the candidates for this year's Conductors' Academy:
