Organ day for children

The Tonhalle organ is presented for young and old in fascinating concerts and an exciting organ course.

The organ is also known as the "queen of instruments" due to its size and magnificent appearance. It can thunder, sing, whistle and, with its many different tone colours, you sometimes think you can hear a whole orchestra. It is not only played with the hands, there are also keys for the feet. What a challenge for the organist! Incidentally, our "Queen" is still quite young: she was newly built by Kuhn Organ Builders and inaugurated in 2021 in the newly renovated Tonhalle.

On Organ Day for children, children aged 5 and over can explore the world of the organ as a course. See the Tonhalle organ from the inside in 3D, listen to the most famous organ pieces on a jukebox or try out how an organ works: here they can learn all about this fascinating instrument up close. In the two organ concerts, the organ is presented live in all its diversity, and the children can also pull out the stops themselves.
