Prokofjew-Zyklus
We are continuing our collaboration with the Zurich Opera House with a Prokofiev cycle.
The Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich and the Zurich Opera Orchestra are teaming up once again: Following the joint Rachmaninov cycle in 2023, they are now presenting a Prokofiev cycle. Four symphonies will be performed, which are among the most important orchestral works of the 20th century.
Each programme will also feature a solo concerto by Prokofiev, performed by internationally renowned soloists such as cellist Sol Gabetta, violinist Hilary Hahn and pianists Daniil Trifonov and Hayato Sumino.
These key works will enter into a dialogue with compositions by Swiss composer Dieter Ammann, who will shape the 2026/27 season as Creative Chair. The works will be conducted by Paavo Järvi and Gianandrea Noseda, General Music Director at Zurich Opera House - who will once again swap orchestras.
