Debüts
Four conductors will lead the orchestra for the first time in the 2026/27 season.
Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla has been one of the most sought-after conductors ever since she succeeded Andris Nelsons in Birmingham at the age of just 29. In June 2027, she will conduct our orchestra for the first time, including in Rachmaninov's "Paganini" Variations with pianist Beatrice Rana, who is also making her debut.
Finland's Hannu Lintu will conduct two programmes in his first collaboration with the orchestra - including a purely contemporary programme as part of the Sonic Matter festival.
This year's focus artist Wayne Marshall, who Zurich audiences already know as a pianist and organist, will also be performing with the orchestra for the first time: at the jazz-themed New Year's Eve concert.
The fourth debut is that of the young Korean Hankyeol Yoon, who will conduct the family concert "The Magic Gate".
