The Budapest-based Intergeese Trió is on the road with cimbalom, double bass and drums - and, in keeping with their line-up, preferably between styles. In their concerts, Hungarian folk music meets jazz, classical music (for example by György Kurtág or Béla Bartók) and post-rock. Áron Horváth, who was already a virtuoso on the Hungarian cimbalom dulcimer as a child, was honoured for his art as an ECHO Rising Star, among other awards. He was recognised not only for the stupendous virtuosity with which he uses his mallets, but also for the innovative imagination with which he presents his instrument in concert halls and jazz venues.
