George Frideric Handel was a master of original recycling: this is also evident in his Concerto a due cori HWV 333. The musical material comes to a considerable extent from his oratorios - but Handel did not employ voices here, but numerous wind players from military bands. They formed two wind choirs which, in dialogue with each other and with the orchestra, created new sound effects. Early music specialist Jan Willem De Vriend will not only create a scenic effect in this work, but also in the overture (arranged by Mozart) to Handel's opera "Acis and Galatea", which tells a love story that is as intimate as it is sad.
