They are between 14 and 24 years old, fit on their instruments - and highly motivated to play in an orchestra. The young people have had the opportunity to do this since 1987 in the Zurich Youth Symphony Orchestra, which is closely linked to the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich as a Junior Music Partner. It is conducted by our principal trombonist David Bruchez-Lalli and the soloist is Ilya Shmukler, winner of the Concours Géza Anda 2024. Before the Zurich Youth Symphony Orchestra presents its skills and programme at the Tonhalle Zurich, it will travel to Sweden for four concerts, including the Blue Hall in Stockholm.
